Who Are the HAWKS?
The HAWKS Racing Formula Student Team is a dynamic group of engineering and business students from the HAW Hamburg, united by their passion for automotive engineering, teamwork, and competition. Each year, the team designs, builds, and races a formula-style vehicle to compete in the prestigious Formula Student competitions. What Is Formula Student?
Formula Student is an internationally renowned competition that challenges university teams to design, build, and race a single-seat formula-style car. Unlike conventional racing events, Formula Student also evaluates teams on design innovation, cost efficiency, and project management, making it a comprehensive test of engineering and business skills.
Participating teams compete in dynamic events such as endurance, acceleration, and skid-pad tests, as well as static events that assess design quality, financial strategy, and overall project presentation. The competition serves as a real-world engineering experience for students, equipping them with the skills and confidence to tackle the challenges of their future careers.
