TEWS Technologies Launches TXMC391 Conduction Cooled 4-Channel 1000BASE-KX Ethernet XMC Module with IEEE 1588 and AVB Support

TEWS Technologies, an industry leader in embedded I/O solutions, is proud to announce the launch of the TXMC391, a high-performance, conduction-cooled XMC module featuring four 1000BASE-KX Ethernet interfaces. Designed for demanding real-time and rugged embedded applications, the TXMC391 delivers precision networking, exceptional thermal stability, and versatile backplane connectivity.

The TXMC391 is built on Intel® I210IS Gigabit Ethernet controllers and leverages a PCIe Gen2 x4 interface via a robust onboard switch. Each channel is equipped with its own 16 Mbit serial flash to support PXE and iSCSI boot, ensuring high reliability and flexibility in deployment.

Key Features

  • 4x 1000BASE-KX Ethernet ports with Intel® I210IS controllers
  • IEEE 1588 / 802.1AS PTP support for precision time synchronization
  • IIEEE 802.1Qav AVB support (with software extensions)
  • PXE & iSCSI boot supported via per-port flash memory
  • Fully compliant P16 backplane I/O (VITA 46.9 X12d mapping)
  • Extended temperature range: -40°C to +85°C (card edge)
  • Conduction-cooled (ANSI/VITA 20), ideal for rugged deployments
  • Onboard I²C temperature sensor for thermal monitoring

With support for auxiliary IEEE 1588 devices via GPIOs routed to the back I/O and clear LED status indicators for each Ethernet port, the TXMC391 provides all the tools engineers need for accurate time synchronization and monitoring.

“The TXMC391 is designed for high-precision Ethernet communication in harsh environments,” said Jan Zimmermann, General Manager at TEWS Technologies. “From aerospace to industrial control, it delivers rock-solid performance, synchronization accuracy, and integration flexibility.”

The module is ideal for system integrators developing high-availability solutions in defense, aerospace, industrial automation, and test & measurement markets.
