TEWS Technologies Launches the TPCE646: A User-Reconfigurable AMD Zynq™ UltraScale+™ MPSoC Board with High-Channel Analog I/O
TEWS Technologies today announced the TPCE646, a user-reconfigurable mixed-signal board featuring an AMD Zynq™ UltraScale+™ MPSoC in a standard PCI Express® x8 form factor. The TPCE646 brings together a high-density analog front end and a fully programmable, high-performance adaptive MPSoC on a single board, allowing engineers to move processing closer to the signal.
A complete mixed-signal platform on one card
The TPCE646 is based on the AMD Zynq™ UltraScale+™ MPSoC (XCZU11EG), combining a multi-core processing system with a large programmable logic fabric. On the analog side, the board provides 32 single-ended bipolar ±10 V analog outputs at 16-bit resolution and 8 differential analog inputs, also 16-bit, sampling at up to 5 Msps with an input range of ±10 V per pin (±20 Vpp differential). Individual determined correction data is provided on the board for the input and output paths, ensuring accurate performance immediately upon deployment.
The TPCE646 offers a PCI Express® x8 Gen 3 link from the card edge to the MPSoC programmable logic, with an optional x4 Gen 2 link to the processing system, plus four differential LVDS lanes on the front panel. For board-to-board communication and custom I/O, the rear connector exposes 64 MPSoC I/Os (configurable as 64 single-ended LVCMOS18 lines or 32 differential LVDS pairs) alongside eight Multi-Gigabit Transceivers on Samtec FireFly™ connectors. A Gigabit Ethernet port, a USB-to-UART channel, dual DDR4 memory banks (4 GB each, expandable to 8 GB) for the PL and PS, and a JTAG debug header round out a platform designed to drop into demanding environments. The board operates across an extended -40 °C to +60 °C temperature range.
The board supports secure and reliable device configuration via QSPI flashes and micro SD card.
Applications can be developed using AMD Vivado™ and AMD Vitis™ (licenses required). As a top-tier AMD Embedded Partner, TEWS also provides custom firmware development services.
“The TPCE646 gives engineers a head start by providing them a platform with a proven analog frontend while allowing them to integrate their own project’s unique requirements within the AMD Zynq™ UltraScale+™ MPSoC,” said Tim Tews, General Manager at TEWS Technologies.
The TPCE646’s dense analog I/O and AMD Zynq™ UltraScale+™ MPSoC support a wide range of applications. In defense and aerospace, it is ideal for simulation, sensor stimulus and acquisition, and radar or electronic-warfare front ends. In industrial automation, its outputs and high-speed differential inputs enable closed-loop motion and process control, with custom control loops or fieldbus protocols implemented directly in the MPSoC fabric.
